Aerial Hoop

Aerial hoop (also referred to as Lyra) is an aerial art using a circular apparatus suspended from the ceiling for a stunning blend of poses, acrobatics, and aerial dance.

HOOP: Intro / Level 1
 

This beginner level class is perfect for students who are learning and perfecting basic hoop. This class will include strength and conditioning exercises while learning the fundamentals and base skills to work towards mounts, poses and combos. Examples of what you might learn:
 

  • Mounting and sitting in the hoop

  • Upright poses and sits

  • Moves underneath the bottom bar

  • A combo that combines multiple beginner elements together

 

PREREQS
 

None! This class is perfect for first timers and beginners.

HOOP: Level 2
 

This intermediate level class is perfect for students who have mastered the basics of hoop. This class will include strength and conditioning exercises while building skills to work towards more difficult mounts, poses and combos. Examples of what you might learn:
 

  • Inverted mounts 

  • Knee hangs

  • Elbow hangs

  • Foot hangs

  • One handed grip moves

  • A combo that combines multiple intermediate elements together

 

PREREQS

  • At least 4 classes of HOOP: Intro / Level 1

  • Inverts from the ground

HOOP: Level 3

This advanced class is perfect for students who have mastered the foundations of hoop. This class will include strength and conditioning exercises while building skills to work towards more difficult mounts, poses and combos. Examples of what you might learn:
 

  • Pirouette

  • Dynamic moves like beats and drops

  • Hip circles

  • Meat hook

  • A combo that combines multiple advanced elements together
     

PREREQS

  • At least 4 classes of HOOP: Level 2

  • Inverts from the top bar

WHAT TO WEAR FOR ALL HOOP CLASSES
 

  • Please wear form fitting leggings that go to the calf or to the ankle and wear a form fitting shirt that covers the midriff. The hoop tape can be tough on bare skin.
     

  • No zippers, studs, or anything that can snag tape or get stuck and pinch you. No jewelry is allowed.
