FAQ's
Are there age restrictions?
We welcome all students 18 and over.
Are men allowed to take classes?
However you identify, you are welcome to take classes at Embody.
Do I have to register online or can I just show up?
We recommend reserving a spot in class using our online schedule. Walk-ins will be able to take class on a first come, first served basis.
What do I wear and bring to class?
Pole Classes
We recommend you wear form-fitting workout apparel ie. shorts and a tank top/t-shirt.
Shorts or bikini bottoms allow bare legs, which will help you grip the pole. Heels and kneepads are encouraged for any of the Sexy Pole Flow or Floorwork classes.
Remove all arm/finger jewelry prior to class to prevent from scratching the poles.
Please do not apply any lotion on the day of your pole class.
Bring your own warmup mat, they are not provided.
Silks/Hoop/Hammock Classes
We recommend leggings that cover the knee and a form fitting top covering the midriff.
This prevents fabric burn or the hoop rubbing on your skin.
Please remove ALL jewelry prior to class and
stay away from clothing with zippers, studs, or buttons that can snag the aerial fabric.
Bring your own warmup mat, they are not provided.
Barre/Flexibility/Fitness Classes
No shoes please
Non skid socks are optional
Comfortable workout wear is recommended.
Bring your own warmup mat, they are not provided.
Burlesque/Dance Classes
Comfortable workout/dance attire is recommended or
Heels, boots, stockings and anything else that makes you feel sassy and sexy is
highly encouraged!
Bring your own warmup mat, they are not provided.
Twerk Classes
Comfortable workout attire (booty shorts and tank recommended)
Knee pads HIGHLY recommended (available for sale at the studio)
Bring your own warmup mat, they are not provided.
What class should I register for?
If you are new pole, silks, hoop or hammock, we recommend starting with an
"Intro" or "Beginner" level class.
Our class levels are Intro, Beginner (Level 1+), Intermediate (Level 2+), or Advanced (Level 3+) and will be listed next to the class title on the schedule if it is relevant to the class. Some classes are a combination of levels such as "Beginner - Intermediate" or "Mixed Level" which is open to all levels but NOT recommended for Intro level students.
Barre, flexibility, twerk and burlesque classes are open to any and all levels
and do not require any type of "Intro."
STUDIO POLICIES
Waitlists
It is common to be added to the class from the waitlist, especially on the same day of class. If/when a spot opens up, you will receive an automated email notifying you that you are now signed in the class. You can be moved from waitlist to class up to 2 hours in advance of the class start time. Make sure you are opted into emails or texts so that you receive the notifications.
If you are not sure you will be able to make it with short notice, we suggest you remove yourself from the waitlist.
Early cancelations
Cancelations made more than 12 hours before the class's start time will post the class credit back to your account for you to use at a future date.
Late cancelations
Canceling your spot in class less than 12 hours before the class's start time. You will lose that class credit, but late-canceling allows waitlist and stand-by students the opportunity to attend an otherwise full class.
Late policy
All classes begin on time, and students may not join after the class has begun.
Photos and video
Your instructor will let you know when pictures and video are welcome in class. Please respect other students' privacy and ask for consent if someone is in your photo or video!
Alcoholic beverages
No alcohol is allowed to be consumed before any physical activities at the studio.
If you are intoxicated when arriving to our studio, you will not be allowed to participate in class and will lose your class credit.
If you have any questions, email us at info@EmbodyAF.com
We look forward to seeing you in class!
