FAQs and Studio Policies

FAQs

  • Are there age restrictions? Can people of any gender attend classes?

We welcome students who are 18 years and older. How ever you identify, you are welcome to take classes at Embody.

  • Do I have to register online or can I just show up?

We recommend reserving a spot in class using our online schedule as many classes book out in advance. Walk-ins will be able to take class on a first come, first served basis.

  • What level class should I register for if I am a beginner?

If you are new pole, silks, hoop, or hammock, we recommend starting with an Intro or Beginner level class.

Our class levels are Intro, Beginner (Level 1+), Intermediate (Level 2+), or Advanced (Level 3+) and will be listed next to the class title on the schedule if it is relevant to the class.

Barre, flexibility, twerk, and burlesque classes are open to anyone of any level!

  • What do I wear and bring to POLE class?

A yoga mat for warm up

Shorts or bikini bottoms allow bare legs, which will help you grip the pole. Heels and kneepads are encouraged for any of the Sexy Pole Flow or Floorwork classes.

  • What do I wear and bring to AERIAL class?

A yoga mat for warm up

We recommend leggings that cover the knees and a form fitting top covering the midriff. This prevents fabric burn or the hoop rubbing on your skin.

Please remove ALL jewelry prior to class and stay away from clothing with zippers, studs, or buttons that can snag the aerial fabric.

  • What do I wear and bring to FITNESS class?

A yoga mat for warm up

Comfortable workout wear is recommended. Non-skid socks are optional for barre classes.

Studio Policies

  • Early Cancelations

Cancelations made more than 12 hours before the class's start time will post the class credit back to your account for you to use at a future date.

  • Late Cancelations

Canceling your spot in class less than 12 hours before the class's start time. You will lose that class credit, but late-canceling allows waitlist and stand-by students the opportunity to attend an otherwise full class.

  • Late Arrivals

All classes begin on time, and students may not join after the class has begun.

  • Waitlists

It is common to be added to the class from the waitlist, especially on the same day of class. If/when a spot opens up, you will receive an automated email notifying you that you are now signed in the class. You can be moved from waitlist to class up to 2 hours in advance of the class start time. Make sure you are opted into emails or texts so that you receive the notifications.

If you are not sure you will be able to make it with short notice, we suggest you remove yourself from the waitlist.

  • Photos and Video

Your instructor will let you know when pictures and video are welcome in class. Please respect other students' privacy and ask for consent if someone is in your photo or video!

  • Alcohol or Other Substances

No alcohol or other substances is allowed to be consumed before any physical activities at the studio, including parties. If you are intoxicated when arriving to our studio, you will not be allowed to participate in class for your own safety.
